Getting started

What can Terrain help our firm do?

Terrain helps real estate investors and developers choose and use AI, improve everyday processes, and build more effective workflows. We can start with one desk, several teams, an existing AI workflow, or a broader assessment.

For example, an owner-reporting workflow could turn approved property figures and team commentary into a draft in your reporting format, with sources and questions for review. It is an example of possible work, not a claim of a completed client result.

What would a first engagement involve?

We start by understanding the work, the people involved, and your existing tools. Together, we agree on the priorities, scope, and a practical first step. That may be improving an existing tool or testing a focused pilot.

Before expanding, we evaluate representative work against agreed measures such as time saved, output quality, review effort, and cost. We use those results to decide whether to refine the workflow, put it into use, or stop.

Do we need to replace our systems or already use AI?

No. We start with the systems and processes you have, whether you are new to AI or already using it. We assess what can be improved before recommending another tool.

Connecting to a system depends on its available interfaces, your permissions, and your administrator’s requirements. An approved file export may be a more practical starting point. Product names on this site do not imply a completed integration.

Your information and your team

What is “the Brain”?

The Brain is an approved reference for a workflow: your documents, instructions, templates, and examples. It helps the workflow use your firm’s context and formats.

It is not automatic model training or unrestricted access to your files. Your team decides what is included and approves corrections to the reference. See how the Brain works.

Who checks the work and makes the decisions?

Your designated reviewer checks the output and approves it before use. A workflow can include source references and open questions to make review easier, but AI can still produce errors or miss important information.

Your team and responsible professionals remain responsible for investment decisions, professional judgment, and approval of external communications.

How would you handle confidential information?

Before sharing client files, we agree on permitted use, access, processing location, the services involved, and how information will be retained or removed. The right arrangement depends on the workflow and the terms of each selected product and plan.

Start an inquiry with a general description. Do not send passwords, government-issued identification numbers, or confidential deal documents through the website contact flow. Read about client-work boundaries.

Practical details

How are cost, timing, and ongoing support agreed?

They depend on the scope, the systems involved, the quality of the inputs, and the testing required. Before work begins, we agree in writing on scope, fees, responsibilities, and the proposed schedule.

We also clarify software or usage costs and who will maintain and support the workflow. Ongoing support and future changes depend on the agreed engagement.

Who would we work with?

Terrain is led by Andrew Bach, Founder & CEO. Andrew is a senior at Emory University with experience in real estate underwriting, financing, and market research. You work directly with Andrew on understanding the problem and shaping the implementation.

Meet Andrew and see his background.

Are the logos and examples shown on the site client work?

The organization logos represent Andrew’s professional and educational background. They are not presented as Terrain clients, sponsors, or endorsers.

The workflow examples use fictional data to illustrate possible formats. They are not client results or a promise of a particular outcome.

How do I start a conversation?

Tell us which process you want to improve, the tools you use, and what a useful result would look like. A short, general description is enough to begin.

The Contact Us form prepares a draft in your email app. Review it and send it there; clicking the button does not send a message. You can also email Andrew directly or call 917-742-7968.
